João Pessoa to Host the 2026 Brazilian Hobie National Championships
The excitement is building for one of the premier events on the Brazilian sailing calendar as the 2026 Brazilian Hobie National Championships for the Hobie 14 and Hobie 16 classes heads to the stunning northeast coast of Brazil.
The championships will be hosted by Iate Clube da Paraíba, located in the vibrant city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, with racing scheduled from 11–17 October 2026. Competitors from across Brazil and beyond are invited to take part in a week of high-level racing, friendship, and the unique Hobie spirit.
Known for its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and excellent sailing conditions, João Pessoa offers the perfect setting for a national championship. Sailors can expect competitive racing on the water, combined with the warm hospitality and relaxed atmosphere that make Brazilian Hobie events so memorable.

Hobie Cat 16
- BRL 500.00 until 30 June 2026
- BRL 650.00 from 1 July 2026 until the start of the event
Hobie Cat 14
- BRL 250.00 until 30 June 2026
- BRL 450.00 from 1 July 2026 until the start of the event
A special early-entry incentive has been introduced for the Hobie Cat 14 class, offering a significantly reduced fee for sailors who commit early and helping to build strong participation in this exciting single-handed fleet.
Minimum Entries Required
The Hobie Cat 14 and Hobie Cat 16 championships will be conducted only if a minimum of five (5) boats in each class are registered by 30 August 2026. Sailors planning to attend are strongly encouraged to enter before this deadline to ensure their class goes ahead.
