Mossel Bay, Western Cape – Excitement is building as the Sunsail South African Hobie 16 Nationals return to Mossel Bay from 24th to 27th September 2025. This year’s championship has already attracted over 20 entries, with more expected as sailors from across South Africa – and beyond – prepare to compete for the prestigious national title.
Mossel Bay, renowned for its consistent winds, stunning coastline, and welcoming community, will once again provide the perfect stage for the high-performance Hobie 16 class. The event promises four days of competitive sailing, camaraderie, and spectacular on-water action.
The Sunsail South African Hobie 16 Nationals is the highlight of the South African Hobie sailing calendar, drawing both seasoned champions and enthusiastic newcomers to test their skills. The fleet is known for its thrilling, tactical racing, where every start, mark rounding, and downwind leg can make the difference between victory and defeat.
Spectators are welcome to enjoy the racing from the shoreline, with excellent viewing points around Mossel Bay. Beyond the water, the regatta will also feature social gatherings and opportunities to celebrate the unique Hobie spirit of fun, friendship, and adventure.
