The fourth and final day of racing for the 2025 Hobie 16 European Championship in Ustka began with hopes of one last decisive battle on the water. Dark clouds loomed on the horizon, but conditions dans Püwere still sailable, and anticipation was high. One more race would have meant an additional discard, potentially shaking up the overall rankings.
However, just before the first start, the race committee made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel racing. Lightning, waterspouts, and unstable weather systems quickly moved in, forcing all sailors back to shore for their safety.
Once the storm had passed, the wind had completely died. Despite long hours of waiting and watching the skies, no further races could be held. The day—and the championship—came to a close, with results remaining unchanged from yesterday. So the past and new European Champions are Cam Owen & Susanne Ghent from Australia

The final prizegiving ceremony took place in the evening under beautiful late summer skies, rewarding the sailors with trophies and a breathtaking sunset to mark the end of a fantastic event.
