At the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), an important Council transition took place within the European Hobie Class Association (EHCA). After many years of dedicated service, Erik Olsen stepped down from his position as IHCA Vice President, passing the role on to Andy Dinsdale.
Erik Olsen has been a valued member of the European Hobie Class Association (EHCA) Executive Committee for many years. Most recently, he served as the EHCA representative within the IHCA in the role of Vice President. Throughout his long tenure, Erik contributed significantly to the development and stability of the Hobie Class through his experience, commitment, and thoughtful leadership.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Erik for his many years of competent collaboration, support, and dedication to the Hobie community. His contributions have played an important role in shaping the class over the years, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
Fortunately, Erik will not be leaving the Hobie “circus” entirely. Among his many responsibilities within the class, he will continue to serve as Chairman of the Rules Committee, where his knowledge and experience will remain an invaluable asset.
During the AGM this past weekend, Andy Dinsdale was unanimously elected as Erik’s successor. Andy is a well-known face in the Hobie world. As a long-time Hobie sailor with a deep connection to both the brand and the community, he brings extensive knowledge and passion to the role.
Andy also has significant leadership experience within the EHCA. He previously served on the EHCA Committee, first as Vice President and later as President for more than five years. During this time, he provided loyal service and strong leadership, making valuable contributions to the development of the Hobie Class in Europe.
We are very pleased to have someone as experienced and committed as Andy representing the EHCA within the IHCA. With his appointment, we look forward with confidence to the future — continuing the Hobie “Way of Life” together.
