53rd Australian Hobie Championships – Series 2- Hobie 14, Hobie 16 Women & Youth, Tiger/Wild Cat

Aus Hobie 16 2025 Series 2 11

The 53rd Australian Hobie Championships Series 2 for the Hobie 14, Hobie 16 Women and Youth, and Tiger/Wild Cat.

Day 1
After the New Year’s break, the sailors were back on the water and ready to race. Four races were completed in a building breeze to blow the New Year’s party cobwebs off the sailors, with one race in very light conditions in the morning, followed by three more races in a great sailing breeze in the afternoon.

Day 2
Four more races in excellent sailing conditions, Geographe Bay Yacht Club, Busselton. The fleet stretched their legs on the race course today, and there were some changes in the leaders in some of the classes.

Day 3
Busselton turned it on today with a proper West Australian seabreeze. 20+kts from the SW, challenging seastate and wild rides characterised today’s racing. With another three races in the bag, bringing a total of 11 so far, with one day to go, it was a day for the heavier sailors to stretch their legs after what has been a light and shifty regatta until now.

Day 4, final day of the series, for the 53rd Australian Hobie Championships
Racing has now concluded for the Pitts Design and Construction 53rd AUS Hobie Cat Nationals at Geographe Bay Yacht Club, Busselton. Many of the sailors are very tired, having raced in both series.

Well done to the new Hobie Champions
