Result of the Hobie 18 Rule Change Questionnaire

The Hobie 18 Rule Change questionnaire posted on December 9th, 2023, came to an end on January 16th, 2024.
The Rules Committee has now analyzed the 109 received responses and we are pleased to announce the results on each of the six proposals:

Inarguable a clear result in favor of all six proposals as can be seen. However, it is worth noting that the proposed changes to HC18 Rule 3.2 and 5.7 have a significantly higher NO percentage than the rest. The reason for this was revealed among the many fine and constructive comments also received. Comments which led to a Rules Committee decision to defer the proposed changes to HC18 Rule 3.2 and 5.7 to further consideration and clarification.
The revised change proposals for the two rules are foreseen to be posted for comments before the end of this month. Stay tuned.
Finally, it has been a great pleasure to note the dedication and engagement shown during the comment period.
