President’s April Report

The snow has melted, the skis are put away and spring has arrived in the USA. It’s time to take the boat out of winter storage and prepare for sailing season. I had an unfortunate encounter with a patch of ice and ended up with an avulsed bone in my hand that is taking forever to heal. Regatta season starts for me at the end of April, hopefully my hand will be cooperating by then.

While we were off enjoying winter, the IHCA web site and social media sites have been featuring news and photos from Hobie events in warmer places. Certainly looks like a lot of fun.

In my last blog, I mentioned the five-year plan we were working on for our world championships. You can see some of those details now at: https://hobieclass.com/future-hobie-racing-world-championships/. More details will be posted as they become available. We are hoping to keep these events stacked up so we can move from one to the other and allow everyone to make plans well in advance for events they are interested in.

Let’s go sailing!
