Juan Antonio and Tono Llabrés new champions of Spain of Hobie 16

Juan Antonio Llabrés and his son Tono Llabres from Pobla Marina and Real Club Náutico Valencia respectively, have been proclaimed Spanish Hobie Cat 16 2022 Champions, at Club Náutico Les Basetes.

The Hobie Cat 16 Spanish Championship was held for the first time at the Club Náutico Les Basetes, by the delegation of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, with that of the Valencian Community Sailing Federation and the national secretariat of the Adecat catamaran class, It was carried out last weekend (November 5 and 6, 2022), with the participation of high-level sailors displaced from various parts of the Spanish geography.

Friday was a very difficult day for the race committee led by Tito Noriega, with off-shore winds that changed a lot in direction and intensity. 2 races could be sailed. On Saturday the conditions were somewhat better, with light winds. On Sunday the strength of the wind reached peaks of 18 knots.

The championship featured national sailors and an invited Venezuelan crew, the current 16 in the world, Luis Guareschi and Maite Bilbao, who won the regatta.

The winners of the Spanish Hobie Cat 16 Championship, as an event, were the following:
1st Luis Guareschi and Maite Bilbao
2nd Juan Antonio Llabrés and Tono Llabrés
3rd Pablo Bernabeu and Javier Bernabeu

The award as Spanish Champion of Hobie Cat 16 went to the first Spanish sailors: Juan Antonio Llabrés and Tono Llabrés who received a plaque from the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation that recognizes them as Spanish champions of HC 16 2022.
