It’s 2:00 AM and a team of sailors and employees from Hobie Cat Co. are inside the Ft. Myers airport with a Hobie 16. As part of our event promotion, all visitors to Ft. Myers will see a Hobie 16 with event sails and sponsor logos. The boat has been in the airport for about a week now and people are taking interest. It has become quite the photo spot.
Our sponsorship team is continuing to pursue opportunities and we continue to have new sponsors coming on board. Our current list of sponsors includes; The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel, South Seas Island Resort, Colgate Offshore Sailing School, Liros-Unlimited Rope Solutions, Allied Portables, Wicked Dolphin Distillery, Captiva Cruises, Sunny Island Adventures, Stilwell Enterprises & Restaurant Group, Hobie Polarized, Cabbage Key Inn, Nautical Ventures and The Islands of Sanibel & Captiva Chamber of Commerce.
The North American region of the Hobie class is offering sponsorships to help youth teams compete in the youth championships.
Meanwhile here in the US the weather people are in a frenzy talking about the “bomb cyclone” hitting the middle US. It does seem to be a big snow storm but somehow, it’s going to completely miss my house. While it might be winter at your house, it’s the perfect time to register for the Hobie 16 World Championships. Remember prices go up at the end of March so don’t delay.
