David Brookes, Wednesday, 12 August 2015 The one day Digicel Fiji Hobie Youth Championship was sailed of the waters of Funky Fish Resort in the Mananuca Group. This was a day for the junior skippers and crew to pit their skills against each other as the senior sailors sat sipping rums overlooking the race course.
A brisk 18 Knots marked the four races but being flat waters behind the reef, the young fleet revelled in the contest, and there was tight racing throughout. The series was dominated by
1st place Tony Tuicaucau and his crew, Maika; with three bullets and a 2nd.
2nd place Tome Taku and Joseva
3rd place Ledua Cakacaka and Arthur Bun.
An event enjoyed by all and with good prospects for future competitive sailors.
