COUNTDOWN to the 50th Hobie Mid-Americas Reunion Regatta.
May 26 Welcome Party to May 29 Long Distance Sail – something for everyone.
Y’all better register or you’ll miss this Texas sized regatta just north of Dallas. Saddle up and come join Hobie Fleet 23 as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Mid-Americas! Check it out on Regatta Network.
Event WebsiteOrganizer Laurie Cronan has done an amazing job and we expect to see many new Hobie friends, as well as enjoy the company of some old salts. There are 59 boats registered to date, so add your name to the list and come sail with us.
Our host venue, Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club in Oak Point Texas, has a great grassy beach rigging area, easy access shore launch and plenty of room. A spectator deck, shaded patio, swimming pool and shower facilities are just the facility perks. The hospitality of the DCYC members and friendly atmosphere make this a favorite Hobie regatta location.
Friday night Texas Taco Party and Welcome will kick off the weekend festivities, followed by two days of regatta buoy racing on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, it wouldn’t be a reunion regatta without a Saturday night dinner and party. The band, REPLICA, will keep us dancing, laughing at limbo, and enjoying the Hobie Way of Life. This band played last year’s event and the folks that came early for the Hobie 14 NACs can attest to the crowd’s liveliness. There will be a “wear oldest Mid-Americas t-shirt contest” and other fun memories shared. And more importantly, NEW MEMORIES MADE. It’s the people that make a party, so please come and make ours even more memorable!
There are gorgeous awards for the top sailors to be presented on Sunday afternoon. And for those able to stay over, we have a long-distance fun sail planned for Monday.
There will never be another 50th-anniversary Mid-Americas regatta. Be there!
