2019 shapes up to be a very busy year for the Hobie sailors.

The 2019 MultiWorlds at La Rochelle that will incorporate the Hobie 14 and Dragoon World Championships. If we meet the World Sailing Regulation the Tiger and Wild Cat will also become a World Championships. Though if they don’t, they will be racing for them. Add the European Hobie 16 Championships and La Rochelle is really going to the place to be between the 17-27 July.  The video on the web site show the historic town of La Rochelle so well. It will be a must for the sailors to tour the surrounds.

The French Hobie Class has done a great job by having their national authority include the Hobie 16 with spinnaker as the youth boat. It took two years of discussion with the French Sailing Federation appreciating that the Hobie 16 was the genuine youth boat. It is sailed by more youth catamaran sailors than any other. This is what we need to see more of the local Hobie associations working with the their larger authorities to have the Hobie included in their events. This can only be achieved at local levels.

The Hobie 16 Worlds in Captiva Island Florida is going to be a great event. The hosts hotel, South Seas Island Resort has made discounted accommodation available only to the Hobie sailors. The discount can only be done through our web site at Hobie Worlds. Sitting on Sunset Beach with a group of Hobie friends form around the world. What could be better?  The web site has lots of information such as how to get to Captiva Island, all the information about the racing, hotel accommodation it has it all. We do recommend booking your hotel and entering as soon as possible to save money and be assured of hotel booking. The site is updated so keep going back to see what is happening.

So much happening in 2019 so keep the Hobie out of the garage in the water.
