2017 Hobie ®Mini-Mega North American Championships to consist of Hobie Waves, Hobie 14, Hobie 16 Youth, Hobie Women, Hobie 17, Hobie 18 in the beautiful Wildwood beaches of New Jersey. Morey’s Organization Mariners Landing Beach Club will be the “Host Site” for the event.
This will be a 10 day event for the Hobie Wave, 14, 16 Youth, Women, 17, 18 North American Championship. Event Dates: August 2 – 12 2017.
The racing schedule is:
August 3rd-5th, Thursday-Saturday
Hobie 14 and Hobie 16 Women
August 6th, Sunday lay day (no racing)
August 7-9, Monday-Wednesday
Hobie Waves and Hobie 16 Youth
Aug 7th-11th, Monday-Friday
Hobie 17 and Hobie 18.
Five (5) boats will be required to be preregistered 45 days prior to event per class. There will be a Welcome Party on Wednesday evening and a Final Banquet on Saturday evening for the 3-day event.
The Wildwoods is comprised of 3 distinct towns, North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. All have the unique character of the vintage Motels with the major concentration in the Doo Wop Motel District of Wildwood Crest. The Atlantic Ocean, well, it is an ocean with waves, surf, swell, a consistent sea breeze and water temps in the mid to upper 70’s this time of year. It is located 2-3 hours from 3 major airports – Philadelphia, Newark and Baltimore-Washington – all International. There are numerous hotels/motels, rental homes, nearby campgrounds, restaurants, bars and shops of every kind. Additionally we are planning on having our own Hobie RV Park right on the beach; front and center to all the attractions.
