A victory for Lauritz Bockelmann and Kim Liedke in Kellenhusen in the Hobie® 16

40 years of regattas in Kellenhusen. Reinhold Mohr told us casually, that this year is the proud anniversary of the regattas in Kellenhusen. In 1976 it all started with one regatta, mostly sailed on dinghies and without a sailing club, but with more than 30 boats. Shortly thereafter, they founded the Segel Club Kellenhusen e.V. (SCKe) and today it occurs together with the Super Sail Tour as organiser.

On one race area a total of 18 races were sailed in three classes on two days. From almost 100 sailors from Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Poland was demanded a lot on the water. Some teams had to fight with wind speed up to 20 knots on Saturday and with the rotating and much weaker winds on Sunday, that mixed the field completely.

Detlef Mohr with his longtime crew Karen Wichard – both from the Segel Club Kellenhusen e.V. – on Saturday in they held the lead in the Hobie® 16, but they could not defend it on Sunday after an early start and another bad start. “Sunday was not our day, we could not sail us free when starting and had no chance to come to the front positions,” says Detlef Mohr after the regatta.

Also the runner-up from Saturday Lauritz Bockelmann / Kim Liedke had to fight with the difficult conditions, they had a 25th place as a discard on Sunday. But their third place in the final race was enough for the youngsters for the overall victory.

In the Hobie 14 was a change of the lead on Saturday and thus won the on Saturday still second-placed Markus Merten in front of Tanja Rindt.

The Tiger/Wld Cat Daniel Paysen / Nico Heinrich won with only 1st places in all 6 races.

Next stop at the Super Sail Tour is in August at the grand final in Westerland on Sylt.
