The Royal Belgium Sailing Club at Duinbergen conducted the Belgium Youth Multihull Championships which was won by Marie Uyttendaele aged 10 & Boris Goethals aged 12 on a Hobie® Dragoon.

The Hobie 16 South African National Championships 2017 is being held at held at Club Mykonos, Langebaan. Langebaan is situated 120 km north of Cape Town and has hosted Hobie World Championships as well as many South African Championships.
